The folks over at VMware have released Fusion 3 for Mac, the next generation virtualization application that not only offers optimizes performance for Snow Leopard but it also ushers in support for Microsoft Windows 7. The release of Fusion 3 comes in just over a year after Fusion 2's September 2008 release.
VMware version 2.0.4 is now available as a free update to existing Fusion 2 and Fusion 1 owners. VMware Fusion allows owners of Intel-based Mac users to simultaneously run both Mac OS X and other operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Sun Solaris.
In an article geared for business Danny Bradbury writing for Financial Post describes how more firms are embracing Macs. In the article titled 'Mac catching firms' eyes', Bradbury provides an example of Overlay.TV, a Ottawa, Canada based firm that has embraced Mac use within the firm. He also provides information on Apple's Boot Camp as well as virtualization applications for the Mac.
In an article posted at the Wall Street Journal Walt Mossberg highlights the newly released VMWare Fusion 2.0 and calls it "the better choice for running Windows on a Mac virtually." He also indicates that in his testing, Fusion performs faster than Parallels.
Team Fusion has announced the availability of VMWare Fusion 2, the next release of the Fusion virtualization software for Mac OS X. VMware Fusion 2 builds on the foundation of VMware Fusion 1 by adding over 100 new features. VMware Fusion 2 is a free downloadable upgrade for all VMware Fusion 1.x users.
