With the availability of iLife '09 commencing today from Apple and several Apple authorized resellers, Apple has updated the status of the Mac Box Set from 'Ships: January' to 'Ships: Within 24hrs'.  With the Mac Box Set, buyers can get iLife '09, iWork '09, and Mac OS X Leopard, in a single box. 


Apple has announced that iLife '09 will be available tomorrow, January 27, and features major upgrades to iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand, with breakthrough new ways to organize and manage photos, create movies and learn to play music. iLife '09 is included with every new Mac and is available as a $79 upgrade for existing users through the Apple Store, Apple's retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.  Apple announced and demonstrated iLife '09 at Macworld on January 6, 2009.


Apple has announced the iLife '09 Up-to-Date program, a benefit to Mac buyers who have purchased or will purchase a qualifying Mac computer prior to the to the official release of iLife '09.  The program allows these buyers to upgrade iLife '08 for a mere $9.95 a substantial savings off the $79 retail price.  Apple recently announced iLife '09 at Macworld 2009 and indicated that it would be available by the end of the month.


At the 2009 Macworld Conference & Expo, Apple announced iLife '09, the next major release to the popular digital lifestyle suite of Mac applications which features major updates to iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand as well as iDVD and iWeb revisions.  iLife '09 is included with every new Mac purchase and will be available later this month as a $79 upgrade for existing users.


On Tuesday February 5, 2008 Apple released an update to iPhoto that takes the version to 7.1.2.  The update addresses security-related issues and the publishing of photos a .Mac Web Gallery.


Apple has released an update to iPhoto for iLife '08 that upgrades the version to 7.0.2.  Apple provides the following description for the update:


On Tuesday August 7, 2007 Apple unveiled iLife '08, the next update to the award-winning suite of digital lifestyle applications.  Included in iLife '08 are significant revisions to iPhoto and iMovie in what Apple calls "the most significant upgrade ever" to the suite.


Apple has an exclusive promotion for existing .Mac subscribers that gives them a $20 discount on the retail price of iLife '06.  Once you log into .Mac and navigate to .Mac Member Central, you'll see a link on the left column that says "$20 off iLife '06".


On Thursday September 28, 2006, Apple Computer released software updates for each application in the company's iLife '06 and iWork '06 software suites.  The updates add compatibility for Aperture 1.5, Apple's latest version of the  post-production photography application.


Good news for those of you who are interested in making the switch but are unable to test out Apple's software.  Apple has posted tutorials that do a great job demonstrating the features of the applications in Apple's award winning iLife suite.  You'll be able to view tutorials in addition to step-by-step instructions for iPhoto 6, GarageBand 3, iTunes, iMovie HD 6, iDVD 6, and iWeb.
