On Tuesday July 27, 2010, Apple refreshed its iMac all-in-one desktop lineup with new Intel's Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors and discrete ATI Radeon graphics.  The new iMac line is shipping now and available through the Apple Store, Apple's retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers

In its December 13, 2009 review of Apple's latest iteration of the iMac desktop, Ars Technica states, "It has been just over two years since Apple last revamped the iMac's design, and the refinements are largely worth it."

Following today's announcements WWDC announcements that included the re-branding of the 13-inch MacBook as a MacBook Pro, the release of new 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models and a MacBook Air update, it's expected that the 2009 Back To School promotion will be subjected to increased interest from education buyers due to lower prices across the Mac portable lineup.  Education buyers can get a free iPod touch when purchased along side a new qualifying Mac.

Apple has launched its 2009 Back to School promotion for education customers across a number of its international online stores a day after the launch of the U.S. and Canadian promotion was unveiled.  The timing of the international promotion comes as a surprise because Apple usually launches it later in the year.

Apple has announced the 2009 Back-To-School promotion. Qualified students, faculty, and staff can get a free iPod when they purchase a new MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, or Mac Pro.  A total savings of $719 can be achieved by combining a qualifying Mac, iPod, printer, and software.

Apple's MacBook portables have taken three top spots in the June 2009 issue of Consumer Reports.  Apple Macintosh laptops ranked highest across the 13-inch, 14-to 16-inch and 17- to 18-inch categories as Apple readily beat out PC vendors who sell Windows based systems.  Interestingly the systems that Microsoft has featured in their recent television ads came nowhere close to Apple systems in the ratings.

The Apple Store is currently down with anticipation that Apple is about to announce new iMac and Mac mini models.  Interestingly enough Amazon has posted the prices and model numbers of the new iMac models prior to any announcement from Apple.

As its been rumored, Apple released updates to the iMac line today. The new iMacs have faster processors that bring the low end model up to 2.4GHz and the high end model up to 3.06GHz. The the top of the line 24" iMac ships with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS (512MB) video card.

We published a report earlier today that sheds light on a rumor that Apple may release new iMac models next week.  To understand why it makes sense, we need to look at Apple's current fiscal quarter.  Apple is participating in Q3 2008 - or in other words, the third fiscal quarter of 2008.  Apple's fiscal year runs from October to September.
