In an attempt to expand the iPhone user based, Apple has started to air new television commercial that highlights the popular Facebook social networking site running on the iPhone.  The advertisement first appeared on television on Tuesday February 5, 2008.

The ad shows how the iPhone can browse the Facebook website while a narrator states the following:

"If you love Facebook so much that you check it every time that you're at the computer, just think about how great it would be to check it every time you're nowhere near your computer"  "Right on your phone"

In a related note, Apple also has released another iPhone television commercial named "Cars", that highlights the advantages of having an iPhone as you negotiate the purchase of a new car:

"Say you're out shopping for a car, and the salesman says, 'this is the best deal in town, guaranteed.' Sounds good," "But say you want a second opinion. That's when having the entire internet on your phone sounds even better."

It's clear that Apple is marketing the iPhone as a device that not only allows one to make calls but also as a device that enables people to do more just about anywhere.  The Internet is a resource that allows people to access information.  The iPhone makes accessing that information easy and right from your pocket.  Since the iPhone went on sale in June 2007 Apple has released 17 iPhone television commercials.
