Apple today released the 3rd generation iPod shuffle in what Apple calls "the world's smallest music player".  The new models are approximately half of the size of the previous model with new 'VoiceOver' and Playlist features.  The new iPod shuffle is smaller than a AA battery, holds up to 1,000 songs and now features controls conveniently integrated into the included earphone cord.

Design
The third generation iPod shuffle adopts a more vertical shape than the prior generation models.  It features a gorgeous new aluminum design with a built-in stainless steel clip. It's available in either silver or black, offers an ultra-wearable design, and features up to 10 hours of battery life.

VoiceOver and Playlist features
The revolutionary new VoiceOver feature enables iPod shuffle to speak your song titles, artists and playlist names. With the press of a button, you can play, pause, adjust volume, switch playlists and hear the name of the song and artist.

"Imagine your music player talking to you, telling you your song titles, artists and playlist names," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of iPod and iPhone Product Marketing. "The amazingly small new iPod shuffle takes a revolutionary approach to how you listen to your music by talking to you, also making it the first iPod shuffle with playlists."

Using the VoiceOver feature, the new Shuffle allows you to pick and choose between different playlists.
