Standalone Installers: Delta and Combo
Apple provides two types of Standalone installers, Delta and Combo. Standalone installers are an alternative to using Software Update.
Delta Updates
These updates also called individual updates, upgrade Mac OS X to a higher version within the same base version. For example, the Mac OS X 10.5.7 update will upgrade Mac OS X Leopard from 10.5.6 to version 10.5.7.
