October 2008: Apple Mac OS market share dips slightly to 8.21 %
According to data collected and metrics tracked by market research firm Net Applications, Apple's Mac OS market share dipped to 8.21 during October 2008. Although falling versus September 2008, Mac OS market share rose by 24.77 percent on an annualized basis. In October 2007 Mac OS market share stood at 6.58 percent as measured by Net Applications.

Year-Over-Year growth analysis
In our September analysis, we indicated that Mac OS market share growth was slowing. The Mac operating system growth experienced three continuous months of year-over-year deceleration. October 2008 marked the end of that deceleration as the data demonstrates that Mac OS market share nudged up slightly to 24.77% from 24.13%.
