As with all Mac OS X operating system updates, 10.4.9 contains all prior security updates for Tiger 10.4. Users have the option of installing the update with either a Delta or Combo update. Users can use the Mac OS X Software Update utility or download a standalone installer. Only one of these methods are required to update to 10.4.9.

Switch To A Mac Commentary
Is this the last update to Mac OS X Tiger? The 10.4.9 update comes out more than five months after the release of 10.4.8. This is one of the longest gaps between releases for Tiger. It is highly anticipated that Apple will be releasing Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 in the near future.
