Empowering Users To Switch To Apple Macintosh Computers
Mac Models
Best Buy ad scans August 10-16: Buy a Mac and save $180 instantly when you purchase a Mac, MobileMe, and iWork
Best Buy is getting in on the Apple Back-to-School action by offering a sweet deal when you purchase a Mac. A posting at SlickDeals highlights that Best Buy will be offering an instant $180 savings to college students and educators when they purchase a Mac, Mobile Me, and iWork. The offer essentially equates to a free bundling of MobileMe (U.S. retail $99) and iWork (U.S. retail $79).
What is MobileMe?
MobileMe is a subscription-based service that packages together a suite of application features that leverage Mac OS X and Windows e-mail, contacts, and calendars. It works with Macs and PCs as well as the iPhone and iPod touch.
What is iWork?
iWork is a collection of office productivity applications available for Mac OS X. Included in the package are document, spreadsheet, and presentation applications that are compatible with Office documents.
You can find out more at the following SlickDeal thread.
Apple's Back-to-School Promotion
We'd also like to highlight that Apple is running a promotion where education buyers can get a Free iPod touch (U.S retail $299) after rebate and a free printer (up to $100 rebate) with the purchase of a new Mac. In our view, the Apple promotion is a better overall deal for buyers.
