Apple to release Mac OS X Snow Leopard on Friday August 28
The Apple online store is now accepting pre-orders for Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Snow Leopard Server (Mac OS X version 10.6) and lists a delivery date of August 28th. Versions available include single client version ($29), family pack ($49), Mac Box Set ($169), and Mac Box Set Family Pack ($229).
Per the order page on the Apple Store"Upgrade from Mac OS X Leopard with Snow Leopard, a simpler, more powerful, and more refined version of Mac OS X. It delivers a wide range of enhancements, next-generation technologies, out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Exchange Server, and new accessibility features. It's the world's most advanced operating system, finely tuned from installation to shutdown.
Snow Leopard is an upgrade for Leopard users and requires a Mac with an Intel processor."

Apple is also accepting pre-orders for Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server, an unlimited-client version for $499.
Mac OS X Snow Leopard is the successor to Mac OS X Leopard and touts the following key improvements:

- Next-generation technologies (64-bit support, Grand Central Dispatch, and OpenCL)

- Out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Exchange
