Apple releases new faster and more affordable MacBook Pro models
During the 2009 Worldwide Developers Conference keynote on Monday, Apple announced the release of new 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models that feature faster processors, 4GB standard RAM, better displays, and built-in batteries on the 15-inch models.
The new 15-inch models range from 2.53GHz to 2.8GHz (or 3.06GHz as a built to order system) and now include the same built-in battery technology that was first introduced in the 17-inch models earlier this year and supports up to 1,000 recharges. Other new features on the MacBook Pro include an SD Card Slot (it replaces the ExpressCard slot on the 15-inch models but remains in the 17-inch model). The 15-inch MacBook Pro also features a new display that has a 60% color gamut increase over the prior generation models. Apple also updated the 17-inch MacBook Pro with a 2.8GHz processor and 500GB hard drive.

Apple has lowered prices between $200 and $300 across the MacBook Pro models. Build-to-order options on each model include a 256GB SSD drive. Here's an overview of the new models:

2.53 GHz, 15-inch MacBook Pro, for a suggested retail price of $1,699 (US)
2.66 GHz, 15-inch MacBook Pro, for a suggested retail price of $1,999 (US)
