Apple Releases Mac OS X 10.6.1, the first update to the Snow Leopard operating system
On September 10, 2009 Apple released the first maintenance update to the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system. The update comes less than two after the Snow Leopard's debut. Users can obtain the update via Software Update and/or the following download page.
According to Apple, the 71.47 MB update "includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac." It is available via Software Update or direct download from Apple.

Also released Mac OS X Server 10.6.1, a 71.57 MB update to the server variant of the Snow Leopard operating system.

Apple also released security updates for prior generation operating systems received security updates. Security Update 2009-005 is available for the following:
