Apple rebrands the 13-inch MacBook as a MacBook Pro, lowers price by $100
During the 2009 Worldwide Developers Conference keynote on Monday, Apple not only announced the rebranding of the popular unibody MacBook as the 13-inch MacBook Pro but also lowered the standard build models by $100 (U.S).
New 13-inch MacBook Pro
The new unibody 13-inch MacBook Pro models include a 2.26GHz model for $1199 and a 2.53GHz model for $1499, down from $1299 and $1599 respectively. Apple also announced that it will retain the "MacBook" name for the recently updated white polycarbonate MacBook that retains its $999 price. Apple also announced that the new 13-inch MacBook Pro will include new standard features including an SD Card slot, FireWire 800, back-lit keyboards and a new built-in battery that has up to 7 hours of battery life. The new displays in the 13-inch also align with those found in the new 15-inch MacBook Pro models. Build-to-order options include up to 8GB of RAM and up to a 500GB Hard Drive.

The following standard configurations are available
