Amazon accepting Mac OS X Snow Leopard pre-orders

Amazon is accepting pre-orders for the next version of the Mac operating system, Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Amazon has the following versions: Upgrade ($29), Family Pack Upgrade ($49), Box Set ($169), Box Set Family Pack ($229) and Server ($499).

Amazon is suggesting a September release as they currently state, "Official release date has not been announced by Apple, though they have indicated this product will be released sometime in September".

Note about the upgrade version
Only Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5) users are eligible for the Mac OS X Snow Leopard (version 10.6) upgrade. Users running Mac OS X Tiger (version 10.4) & earlier will need to purchase the full version of Snow Leopard and should check if their Mac is compatible with the new version. All users should be aware that Snow Leopard will only run on Intel-based Macs.

As of this posting, the Mac OS X Snow Leopard upgrade version sits in the second spot while the Family Pack takes the third spot on Amazon's Bestsellers in Software category.
