In a June 12, 2007 article Eric Bangeman of Ars Technica posted a review of the new Santa Rosa based 17-inch MacBook Pro.  It's a very detailed and extensive review that's a must read for anyone who is considering the 17-inch MacBook Pro.  Bangeman often compares the new model to prior generation 17-inch models so it's a great way how the new model stacks up to older models.

At WWDC 2007 Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled Safari 3 Public Beta, the next version of the Safari web browser.  According to Apple Safari 3 is world’s fastest and easiest-to-use web browser for Macs and now Windows PCs.

According to data collected by Net Applications, the Safari Web browser for the Mac operating system continues to gain market share and checks in at 4.82 percent for May 2007.  Safari continues to maintain its position as the third most used web browser trailing only Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Mozilla's Firefox.

According to data and metrics collected by market research firm Net Applications, Apple's Mac OS market share rises to 6.46 percent for May 2007.  Mac OS Intel market share rises to 2.51 percent.

Apple has announced the 2007 s Back-To-School promotion. Qualified students who buy an iPod at the same time they purchase either a MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, or Mac Pro can get up to a $199 rebate.  The promotion runs through September 16, 2007.  This is a great deal for students because they can get the rebate on top of the education discount.  It's a great way to save.
