Apple has re-branded the "Special Deals" section of the online Apple Store to the new and improved "Apple Outlet". The outlet is the place to shop for certified and refurbished Apple products at discount.

Numerous Online Apple Stores are down across the globe. Expectations are that Apple will release updates to their portable line of Mac computers. There have been rumors over the past few days that Apple would release updates to the MacBook line. The MacBook was last updated in November 2006.
On May 8, 2007, Microsoft's Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) released an update for Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac that upgrades the suite to version 11.3.5. According to Microsoft:
In a May 8, 2007 article titled "Mac share of surfers doubles in 8 months" with a subtitle "Apple is eroding Microsoft's online market share, says analyst", Computerworld demonstrates that the number of people surfing the Web with Macs has grown substantially in the past eight months. Furthermore, the article states that the Mac audience should not be ignored by Web application developers.

Reversing its first market share decline since June 2006, Apple's Mac OS market share returned to growth in April 2007 as it rose to 6.21, up from the 6.08 percent from the prior month. The market share data in this report has been obtained from market research firm Net Applications (Market Share).
